Skype and Telephone Therapy
Many people these days work unpredictable and unsociable
hours, and may need to travel extensively for their work. This means that
it is difficult for many people to access services such as counselling, where
demand is high and waiting lists long, leading to some services having very
strict policies around not allowing sessions to be missed.
This is why I have recently begun taking on clients with
whom I conduct sessions by either telephone or Skype. A
service of this type has many benefits:
- You can book an appointment and access therapy wherever
you may be in the country.
- I can offer a very flexible service with both evening
and weekend appointments available as well as the more usual "office hours".
- You can "see" the same counsellor throughout the whole
period of your therapy, even if you can't always manage the same time-slot.
As I will not see you face to face, I ask for payment in advance for these
sessions: this can be done through Paypal or through direct payment from your
bank. Apart from this though, sessions will proceed much as they would
face-to-face.
I usually deal directly with clients: however I can also
contract with companies if they are willing to foot the bill for an employee (if
the issue is work-related, for example, or if the company wishes to act to try
to prevent a possible stress-related absence). See
Contracting
for Businesses for more details.
